Helen Dierker has been the General Manager for IMIS, Corp. and responsible for all aspects of Agency Management for over 3 years. In addition to her role at IMIS, Helen is also the President of Neptune Specialty Training, LLC, a newly formed company owned by her and Al Golden that provides accredited training to Marine Professionals.
Helen has been in the Insurance business for nearly 30 years with 15 of those years spent working in the Marine Insurance Industry. Her experience spans all facets of the business as she has worked both on the company side as well as the agency side. She started her career in Marine Insurance as a Claims Adjuster and worked her way through the ranks to become a member of the Senior Management Team at Zurich Marine Specialty on the Production/Underwriting side of the house. When she left Zurich she was the Zurich Marine Specialty Underwriting manger. Prior to her position as Underwriting Manager was Operations Manager, Regional Agency Manager, Underwriter, Sr. Claims Adjuster and now Agency Management. Helen credits her unique background with a very broad perspective of our business, and feels strongly that the more you understand all the facets of Marine Insurance Industry, the greater your appreciation is for what we do.
Helen is a founding member of the Mid-Atlantic Mariners Club. She served for 3 ½ years as the Program Director, for 1 year as First Mate and now is the Professional Development Director for the Club.
Helen lives with her husband Bill, and Magic (her Golden Retriever) in Pasadena. She has a son, and a beautiful granddaughter that she also loves to dote on. She loves to travel and has taken several trips to China. Her plans for the upcoming year hopefully include a trip to Ireland, Italy or Greece. She also loves reading, concerts, theater, hiking, and cruising on the Chesapeake Bay. She hopes one day to learn how to sail.
